Stonebridge is a private investment firm that partners with operating executives and management teams to acquire companies with annual sales ranging from $10M to $50M.
Our objective is to work closely with proven and committed operating executives, who may be a strong incumbent team and/or a new executive or management team which seeks to acquire the company.
Although smaller companies are often the most in need of capital to address a wide range of business and ownership needs, there is an undersupply of capital available to finance smaller businesses. We focus on small businesses precisely because we see great opportunity in working with the owners and managers of these businesses to provide the capital they need.
Each project requires a clear plan to implement 2 or 3 critical actions that will transform the target company in a meaningful way. The plan should either:
- Facilitate a consolidation of two complimentary stand-alone companies to form the basis for one strong growth engine moving forward; and/or
- Carve-out a small non-core/orphan division from a larger parent company; and/or
- Implement business improvements and pursue growth opportunities.
Our team provides a wealth of experience in owning and managing businesses over the years and we provide extremely valuable perspective in area’s such as corporate finance, mergers & acquisitions, financial modeling, defining & installing performance metrics, strategic planning, key management hiring, product development, manufacturing, and the implementation of sales & marketing programs.
In certain situations, our team will work with the existing business owners of good companies, which are experiencing short term challenges, who are willing to commit to sell a minority interest now followed by implementing the critical actions and selling the balance of the business when the economic environment improves.
Stonebridge takes an active leadership role throughout the life of the investment to augment/mentor the management team to ensure the implementation of the value creation plan and to drive the day-to-day operations of the company. |
